Folks,
Our newest, hopefully permenant home has been established at http://xteams.oit.ncsu.edu/iso
We haven't been know as "Integration Services" for at least two re-orgs now, and it was either time to move, or allocate some more attention to this site's backend and disaster recovery.
I'm proud that this was the first drupal site in OIT, and I think our successful example paved the way for all the Drupal projects that are now moving forward or on the drawing board.
We need to stop creating folders and doing other desktop setup that was in testing from the Microsys days.
Hi gang,
Joe and Will seem to have access controls assigned to groups rather then individual people in QIP. Yay, go team, and woot!
For our monday meeting, I'd like to ask each of you to make a printout of all the VLANS that you have rights to in QIP, and mark up which ones you think the whole group needs, if they are to be responsible even in part for the job you're doing now. I'd like to compile a map of VLANS, past and present.
OK, so these may be the worst meeting notes ever recorded, as I didn't write anything down and am just trying to do something productive while I wait for sysprep to finish.
We had an informal get together to talk about what we're concerned about/working on and to continue to introduce Jonn into our little group.
We talked a lot about needed to document our security policies regarding who would be a domain/enterprise admin. We're in a bad place, in that we can't identify why some of the domain/enterprise admins have that level of access.
We need a script to attach to all our servers and change the local administrators
We seem to have a lot of expired accounts in ACSAD, due likely to the manual process of creating and removing them.
We need a script to dredge through all the accounts in ACSAD, and compare them to active "Unity" accounts, disabling or reporting them.
We need to pull data from the AV servers. Threats detected, number of entries in the detection database, number of clients, that sort of thing.
I got jealous of Kevin working on his project list by writing things down on his fancy-pants whiteboard, so I created a Projects Forum where we all could post potential projects for the team.
I'm starting with some simple to describe stuff that I don't want to forget about, so please don't read this as my priority list.
We need a daemon who will build a summary of all pages in the last week alongside all sysnews posts for the past week.
Might be useful to summarize server counts, uptimes, and any "flapping" events.
We need to have servers put themselves into maintaince mode when the do a routine reboot. I've put some notes together on the tables that would need to be poked in the protected space at https://xteams.oit.ncsu.edu/monitoring/node/14
In my fantasies, when you enter a "planned reboot" in the MS reboot tracker thing, it hooks a shutdown script that forwards whatever reason you enter to Nagios.
