I will need to rebuild this as soon as I have time. It has logins disabled currently. This is also posted as a test for the blog
This is a short presentation discussing the current state of WolfPrep Classic, with a preview of WolfPrep Blue.
Recycling is good, so I'm going to copy an e-mail message I sent to our internal list to the blog, so I don't loose track of it.

Mark asked me if it would be possible to tie this integrate.oit.ncsu.edu blog into the administrative portal at http://mypack.ncsu.edu . At the time, I figured it would be easy -- at a minimum we could read the RSS feeds from this site into a portlet.
Alas! Though there are clearly RSS feeds in the admin portal (you can get the WRAL news) end-users don't seem to be able to identify and use their own RSS feeds. As currently configured, the admin portal appears to be just for administrative centrally delivered stuff, and not a general purpose portal.
For background see the article from WindowsSecurity.com entitled How Windows Share permissions and NTFS permissions work .
Share Permissions Best Practice
As a best practice, it is most efficient to configure share
permissions with Authenticated Users having Full Control access. Then,
the NTFS permissions should configure each group with standard
permissions.
When I open"My Documents" on some computers, I get a warning dialog of
"This page has an unspecified potential security risk. Would you like to continue?"
According to the Citrix support pages, this is IE7, trying to protect me from evil sites outside my intranet.
We have a short presentation that describes the design principles used in unity.ad.ncsu.edu, available here. Open Office and PowerPoint formats.
Saw a note on the higher-ed listserver referring to a problem with a change to the way Vista with SP1 handles Kerberos that ends up breaking pass-thru authentication. There is a client side workaround of which I don't want to lose track.
The lastest and greatest limited editon of AdminStudio is available on the ITD site license volume (gotta have the Novell client):
" \\itd_sitelic_server\sitelic\Novell\Zenworks\AdminStudio 8.5 Zen Edition Installer"
I haven't downloaded the complete set of Zen 10 stuff 'cause I didn't want to give anyone any ideas... let me know if you need it for some reason.
Here's a quick run-down on how to configure Pidgin to talk to the OIT Jabber server and to Groupwise IM, and how to find the "windows-services" chat room on Jabber.
Please feel free to add pages for other IM clients. These instructions were made with Pidgin 2.0.2-3.el5
Go to the Accounts -> Add/Edit menu and click Add.
